Hi everyone! I am back after my December break! If you are wondering where I was, well, I have a great excuse. See, I have been basically writing non-stop. I dove into a project during NaNoWriMo and I am still absolutely drowning in it. As a matter of fact, I have written 300k words for it now, the equivalent of one thousand two hundred (1200) book pages! Hahaha. Is any of it any good? I highly doubt it. Was it fun to write? Absolutely. Am I done with it now? No! The project is pretty much just a fun little ride I've let myself drift away on and won't be anything I'll be querying. But, at the same time, I don't really care, since now I know that I CAN write so much, that I could do it for a project I actually wish to publish, and that knowledge alone has made the writing absolutely worth it. Am I the next George R. R. Martin? Maybe... But now, since we're in January, I am looking to get more serious work done again, namely, to once again query my main project, DREAMING. Querying which as been going alright, but which has been problematic on the perfectionist level. All November, I pushed back sending any emails because I just wasn't happy with them, and yet I could not bring myself to edit anything or to make it any better - because I did not feel confident about it all. It has even gotten to the point where I'm starting to accept the fact that the project may be shelved, not because of the rejections I've received (because I really haven't sent it out that much to begin with), but because I realized how much more fun and exciting some of my other novels are. Basically I'm hesitating to move on first with those before perhaps, in the future, returning to Dreaming. But as my January resolutions, I did want to send out my next batch of queries! And for the 2023, one of my resolutions is to send out a whooping 50 queries for the novel! Fingers crossed all will go well! What are your writing/reading resolutions?
